Welcome to the United Way of Thunder Bay

Betty Ann Savas
Canadian Pacific

Betty Ann is originally from Thunder Bay and lives with her spouse Jim Hay. She has worked at Canadian Pacific since 1994 where she started as a Conductor Switchman/Yardman and is now a Locomotive Engineer.

Since starting at Canadian Pacific Betty Ann donates through payroll deduction and in 2004 she was featured in the United Way’s campaign posters. She then held the role of Employee Campaign Chair in 2005 and continued to canvass her fellow employees during the 2006 & 2007 campaigns. In 2008 Betty Ann accepted the offer to become a Sponsored Employee with United Way.

Betty Ann believes that we should all try to reach out to those in need and try to understand that everyone is different and worthy of our support. By being a Sponsored Employee She hopes to help build a caring community and safe haven for all who live here.

Betty Ann is an active woman and enjoys spending time golfing, walking, biking and watching sports. She and Jim also help out their friends & neighbours with chores.  In addition to supporting the United Way Betty Ann is also a member of the Legion Branch #5 Ladies Auxiliary.
