CJ Miller
City of Thunder Bay/Superior North EMS
C. J. is originally from Chibougamau, Quebec. He has lived in Thunder Bay more than 20 years after spending time in Elliot Lake, Edmonton, and Espanola, among other places. He is the father of a blended family with 4 teenage children. He enjoys curling, hockey, skiing and being outdoors.
C.J. has been working as a Primary Care Paramedic for almost 25 years and is currently employed by Superior North EMS. Through S.N.E.M.S, C.J. first became involved with United Way as an employee canvasser. C.J. is very proud of the fact that his work place is a Platinum Award winner several times over.
He feels that as a Sponsored Employee he really gets to see the inner workings of the campaign and therefore helps raise even more funds for United Way. He is pleased to be involved as a Sponsored Employee for a third year. C.J. is proud of his employers, all of whom understand the growing needs in the community and are prepared to respond.
C.J. is very involved within the community and has an extensive list of groups he assists. These include, but are not limited to, Co-Chair of United Way City Employees Campaign, Shelter House food collection, chair of Party with the Paramedics, union rep, and political canvasser.
He feels charity, or volunteerism, is a personal choice, and that we should all try to enable or empower those that do volunteer.
"Give what you have. To someone it might be better than you dare to think."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
