CORPORATE LEADERS
Scott McFadden
Thunder Bay Airport Authority

Mr. McFadden has over 30 years experience in the aviation industry starting with Air Canada as a jet engine technician in 1978 and included owning his own aircraft maintenance and management business.  Scott is an AME, pilot, and has a Masters in Business Administration from Queen’s University.  In 1997 he was appointed to his current position of President and CEO of the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority (soon to be Canada’s first solar-powered airport).

Scott led the TBIAA through fourteen consecutive years of net asset growth while remaining the lowest priced of the 26 National airports in Canada, and the only one to have eliminated its passenger fee.  The Airport’s unique and innovative business model has been featured in many industry publications and Scott has accepted speaking engagements in Canada, the U.S., and Europe to share his experiences, which include the creation of three subsidiary companies.

These small but growing companies represent about 15% of the TBIAA’s revenues and provide products and services to airports and airlines across Canada, the U.S. and in the Caribbean.  The products include proprietary financial and flight data software, advanced technology surface maintenance equipment, and airport management & consulting services (TBAS operates the airports in Red Lake and Nakina Ontario).

In addition to his love of flying, Scott is an avid salt and freshwater flyfisher, certified diver, retired racer and enjoys camping and many other family activities with his Wife Claire and teenagers Niki and Jessie.

Most recent; IAAE Airport Canada Magazine (soon), ACI-NA Centrelines Magazine (soon), August 2008 issue of Wings.  Article on iFIDS.com, the TBIAA’s technology subsidiary.
