CO- CHAIR EDUCATION
Suzanne Eddy
Vice Principal, Superior CVI
Suzanne Eddy has lived in Thunder Bay since the age of 8 with several stays in other towns in Northwestern Ontario. She began her teaching career in Marathon, Ontario, in 1988, teaching English and drama. Suzanne returned to Thunder Bay in 1998 having received a teaching position at Westgate. Since that time she has been a vice principal for 4 ½ years at Westgate, Hillcrest and the new high school, Superior.
Suzanne is married to Phil Eddy and they have two beautiful daughters, ages 18 and 20. Their household also includes dog Lucy and cat Sophie. In her leisure time she enjoys travelling, hiking, curling and reading.
Suzanne has been involved with the Canadian Arthritis Society, canvassing the neighbourhood in the past several years. She has also been involved with the Alzheimer’s Society walk and the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
This is Suzanne’s first year formally involved with the United Way, although she has been a big supporter of the organization and has worked with students to support their fundraising activities on behalf of United Way. Suzanne was asked by the current chair of the Campaign Team, Wayne Fletcher to join. Both Wayne and Suzanne feel that the United Way is a great group of people to work with and of course, a worthwhile endeavour.
What you give is what you receive. Suzanne is optimistic that we can reach our goals and is a firm believer that dedication and hard work pays back in more ways than purely financial. Together we can build a better community by supporting the most vulnerable. |
