Born in Thunder Bay, Andrew returned after completing his medical training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Ottawa.  He has worked at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre since September 2002.

Andrew and his wife Helen are kept busy by their son Noah, but both find time to be involved in church and community activities.

In 2003, Andrew was asked by then Campaign Chair, Elizabeth Dougall, to help increase the involvement of younger members of the health community.  He agreed to do so and took on the role of section chair in 2004, moving to Division Chair in 2004.
