Carol Busch
City of Thunder Bay

Carol, born and raised in the Fort Frances area, relocated to Thunder Bay in August 2000 with her four children.  A Certified General Accountant with extensive experience in municipal government finance and instructing post-secondary accounting and computer courses, Carol is the City Treasurer and General Manager of Finance for the City of Thunder Bay.

Carol has been on the Campaign Team and the Chair of the City of Thunder Bay employees United Way Workplace Campaign since 2001.  She also served on the Allocations Team for 6 years and was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way for 4 years.  Carol believes that it is important “lead by example to demonstrate the importance of giving back to community in which you live” and “to share time and resources to truly make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate”.

Carol is actively involved with activities of her children, volunteers as a “Friendly Visitor” through the 55+ Centre and enjoys working out at the gym, rollerblading, walking her dog, fishing, quilting and painting.   Cooking and baking are a passion and she has published a cookbook, all proceeds of which are directed to Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club, a United Way funded agency.
