Carol Busch

Carol, born and raised in the Fort Frances area, moved to Thunder Bay in August 2000 with her four children. A Certified General Accountant with extensive experience in municipal government, finance and instructing post-secondary accounting and computer courses, Carol is the City Treasurer and the General Manager of Finance and Corporate Services for the City of Thunder Bay.
Carol is 2011 Vice-Chair of the Campaign Team and on the United Board of Directors. This is her eleventh year as the Chair of the Municipal Division employees United Way Workplace Campaign. She also served on the Allocations Team for 6 years. Carol believes that it is important to “lead by example to demonstrate the importance of giving back to community in which you live” and to share time and resources to create opportunities for a better life for everyone in our community.
As a proud Mom, she supports her children in their numerous activities and is President of the 2511 LSSR Army Cadet Corps Parent Support Committee. Carol is also an active community volunteer (“Friendly Visitor” through the 55+ Center, United Way, Shelter House, Christmas Cheer). In her quiet time, she enjoys walking her dog, fishing, painting, reading and running.
Cooking and baking are a passion and she has published a cookbook, all proceeds of which are directed to Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club, a United Way funded agency. She is currently working on cookbook # 2.
