Shawn has been involved with United Way for over 10 years after participating in the annual Great Billboard Rescue, an event sponsored by many local companies including his own, Lowery’s Basics SRC.  Shawn is a partner in the business, which is well known and specializes in office machinery and supplies.   

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Shawn has much experience in event planning. Following the success of Billboard he was asked by the United Way to be the Special Events Chair and a board member of the agency.

He describes his volunteer work at United Way as being very rewarding for him and his family, including wife Erin and three children Logan, Makenna and Lucas.  His philosophy on life is “to always take care of my family, make sure the room is full of laughter and to help out those in need.”

Shawn is also a member of the Board of Directors
