The Directory of Services is published each year to outline all of the services and programs that we support.

The United Way of Thunder Bay supports 61 programs provided by 28 agencies in Thunder Bay. 

Each year, the United Way conducts a Needs Assessment and the Allocations Committee decides how to best invest in the future health of Thunder Bay.

Strong Families

2,123 child clients received help for mental health needs and counselling at Children’s Centre

89 males and 329 females attended workshops at Faye Peterson Transition House, helping them deal with issues of substance abuse and physical abuse in the family

151 parents attended training sessions on parenting at Catholic Family Development Centre

55 individuals attended an anger management program at John Howard Society

Healthy Children & Youth

70 cooking classes (community kitchens) at Our Kids Count were organized to teach families living on a budget how to cook nutritious, appetizing meals

240 children attended RespectEd workshops at Canadian Red Cross Society of Thunder Bay, where they learned about healthy relationships and strategies for dealing with bullying and personal abuse

Over 600 children participated in recreational, social and nutritional services at Boys & Girls Clubs of Thunder Bay

Self-Sufficient Individuals

40 children received early intervention services for vision loss at CNIB

604 individuals attended the Walk-In Clinic at Thunder Bay Counselling Centre and 374 attended ongoing counselling

416 clients at Canadian Hearing Society were helped with hearing related concerns

Supportive & Safe Neighbourhoods

1,238 Grade 3 students attended the “We Can Help” program and 1,572 Grade 6 students attended the “Lifesaver” program to learn first aid skills at St. John Ambulance

191 car seats were inspected at St. John Ambulance to insure safety for infants

5,625 individuals accessed services for quality affordable clothing at Clothing Assistance Mission

152 clients received friendship and support at Hospice Northwest
